Whole Wheat Pizza Crust

Sunday night was homemade pizza night. If you haven’t had one of those recently, I highly recommend it. It’s so fun! This crust made 2 10-inch pizzas and was good. Also, so easy!

what you’ll need:

  • 1/8 tsp. sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 2 1/4 tsp. active dry yeast
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil

how you’ll do it:

preheat the oven to 350*
in a small bowl, dissolve sugar in water, then pour yeast on top until it becomes foamy, about 5 min.

in a large mixing bowl, combine flours and salt

create a well in which to pour the oil and yeast solution

start combining with a wooden spoon until the dough begins to stick together
put dough out onto a lightly floured surface and begin kneading with your hands, folding a quarter-turn onto itself each time for about 10 minutes

grease a large bowl and form the dough into a ball

place in bowl and cover with dish towel
put in warm place to rise for 90 minutes
then add your preferred toppings and cook until cheese is completely melted together
