Sprite Cobbler

Another Pinterest-inspired recipe, folks! Although this can’t even touch your grandmama’s homemade, from-scratch, with freshly picked berries out of her backyard, masterpiece, it’ll do when you’re in a bind. 😉 With only 3 ingredients, it’s super simple, and the hardest part is waiting for it to cook.

what you’ll need:

  • 2 16 oz. packages frozen berries (I used mixed berries and strawberries)
  • 1 white cake mix
  • 20 oz. bottle of Sprite, divided

how you’ll do it:

preheat your oven to 350*
pour the berries into a 9×13 casserole dish

cover with cake mix

pour 12 oz. of Sprite over cake mix

bake in the oven for about an hour. about halfway through, pour more sprite on areas that are still dry as needed

(I never can seem to take a picture of the finished product before we’ve devoured most of it!)

You can see that the “crust” just barely gets golden brown. When it’s like that and the berry juices form that thick goo on the edges, it’s ready! Serve hot (or warm) with vanilla ice cream!

      1. It turned out wonderful!! I did take it out after an hour and by the time I served it an hour later it had firmed up nicely!! Can’t wait to make another one:)
